Healthcare Activos makes all its financing sustainable

July 29, 2026 2 min read

Healthcare Activos, the European platform specialising in healthcare real estate assets, has incorporated ESG-linked indicators, particularly social criteria, into a €122.5 million senior loan held by its HA Yield II fund with a banking syndicate comprising Crédit Agricole, BNP Paribas, Abanca and Novobanco.

HA Yield II is a €660 million investment vehicle specialising in the acquisition of elderly care, mental health and rehabilitation facilities, with assets across France, Belgium, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Spain.

The new agreement with the banks includes three indicators focused on improving access to healthcare in underserved regions, promoting models that enhance residents’ quality of life, and decarbonising its real estate portfolio. Following this agreement, 100% of the financing of Healthcare Activos’ funds is now linked to ESG objectives.

“We are very proud to align our long-term financing strategy with our mission: to develop critical social and healthcare infrastructure that is essential to the long-term sustainability of our society, in partnership with leading European operators,” said Albert Fernández Sabater, co-CEO of Healthcare Activos.

The platform, chaired by Jorge Guarner, announced last week the launch of a new €800 million fund dedicated to the acquisition and development of hospitals.

Since its founding in 2016, the firm has acquired and developed 87 healthcare assets valued at more than €1.6 billion.

Cambios principales: he evitado una traducción demasiado literal y he usado terminología más natural en inglés corporativo e inmobiliario, como “healthcare real estate assets”, “banking syndicate”, “underserved regions” y “decarbonising its real estate portfolio”.
